XI class admission 2024-25

Students in Bangladesh who passed their SSC exams in 2024 are getting ready for Class XI. Before, applying to colleges was hard. Students had to buy many forms and sometimes take tests. Now, it's easier. They can apply to up to ten colleges from home. They use the internet or SMS for this. This new way is quicker and simpler. The admission process starts on 26 May 2024 and ends on 11 June 2024. Results will be published on 23 June, 4 July, and 12 July 2024.

Qualification and Group Selection

Eligibility Criteria

  • SSC or Equivalent Pass (Last 3 Years): Students who passed the SSC or equivalent exams in the last three years (including 2023) from any education board in Bangladesh or Bangladesh Open University are eligible to apply for admission to Class XI in any college or equivalent institution, subject to other provisions of the policy. Students who passed from previous years, including from Bangladesh Open University, can also apply manually to the board for admission.
  • Foreign Education Board: Students who passed SSC or equivalent exams from any foreign education board or similar institution will be considered eligible for admission under policy (2.1) after their certificates are validated by the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Dhaka.

Group Selection

Science Group: Students who passed from the Science group can choose to apply for Science, Humanities, or Business Studies groups.

Humanities Group: Students who passed from the Humanities group can choose to apply for Humanities or Business Studies groups.

Business Studies Group: Students who passed from the Business Studies group can choose to apply for Business Studies or Humanities groups.

Any Group: Students who passed from any group (Science, Humanities, or Business Studies) can choose to apply for Islamic Studies, Home Science, or Music groups.

Madrasa Education Board: Students who passed from the Science group of the Madrasa Education Board can choose to apply for Science, Humanities, or Business Studies groups. Students who passed from the General and Mujabbid Mahir groups can choose to apply for any group except the Science group.

Technical Education Board: Students who passed SSC (Vocational) or Dakhil (Vocational) exams from the Technical Education Board can apply for any group under the general education boards.

Admission Procedure for XI Class ( Application Process )

Admissions for XI Class are based on SSC or equivalent exam results, with no admission tests. 93% of seats are filled on merit, with quotas for children of education staff and freedom fighters. Special provisions exist for students with special needs, expatriates' children, and those with achievements in sports and culture. No Admission Test

Admission to Class XI will be based on SSC or equivalent exam results. No admission test will be taken.

Seat Allocation

93% of seats are open to all based on merit. 1% of seats are reserved for children of Ministry of Education staff, and another 1% for children of staff in related offices. 5% of seats are reserved for children or grandchildren of freedom fighters, with required certificates.

Special Categories

Students with special needs, children of expatriates, BKSP students, and those with achievements in sports and culture can apply manually. The minimum GPA may be relaxed for these students.

Merit Determination

If students have the same GPA, total marks will decide the merit. In the Science group, if marks are equal, marks in General Mathematics and Higher Mathematics/Biology will be considered. If still tied, marks in English, Physics, and Chemistry will be considered. In Humanities and Business Studies, if marks are equal, marks in English, Mathematics, and Bengali will be considered.

Priority for Own Institution Students

Students from their own school get priority for their group (Science, Humanities, Business Studies) based on the school’s rules. Remaining seats will follow the general admission rules.

College Authority's Role

Colleges can set minimum requirements for admission. They must publish all admission information on their website and notice board. Admissions must follow the schedule given by the Ministry of Education and the Education Board, with no admissions outside these dates.

Step 2: Online Application

All students must apply online through the official website. During the application process, you can select a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 colleges or equivalent institutions based on your preferences. An application fee of 150 BDT is required to proceed with your application.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Fill out the online application form carefully, ensuring all the information you provide is accurate. After completing the form, pay the application fee of 150 BDT online. Once the fee is paid, submit your application through the website.

Step 4: Selection and Merit List

The selection process is based on your SSC or equivalent exam results. Colleges will allocate 93% of their seats based on merit. If you fall under a special category, such as expatriates' children, BKSP students, or those with significant achievements in sports or culture, you can apply manually.

After the admission process is completed, students can change their college, group, or subject with the board’s permission. However, switching to the Science group from other groups is not allowed. Additionally, educational institutions cannot withhold a student’s academic transcript for any reason. Changes in College/Equivalent Institutions

According to the respective education board, no transfer certificate will be issued for students enrolled in the eleventh grade without prior permission. Additionally, institutions are not allowed to admit students based on transfer certificates issued without board approval. In case of admission through the Transfer Certificate (TC) process, the college or equivalent institution must submit the necessary documents to the relevant education board within 15 days for the registration fee.
