Midwifery & Nursing Admission Circular 2023-24 is out now! If you are interested in becoming a nurse or midwife, this is your opportunity. The Nursing and Midwifery Admission Circular was released on March 30, 2023. You can start applying from April 3, 2023. But hurry, because the application closes on April 20, 2023! Applying is easy – just go online. And don't forget to download your admit card between May 12 and May 20, 2023.

The Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council offers three programs: a three-year Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, a three-year Diploma in Midwifery, and a four-year BSc in Nursing. Qualification to Apply

To apply for the Midwifery & Nursing programs for the 2024-24 session, you must meet these minimum qualifications:

  • Nationality and Age: You must be a citizen of Bangladesh and not older than 22 years.
  • Educational Background:
    • SSC/HSC Examinations: You need to have passed your SSC (or equivalent) examination in 2020 or 2021 and your HSC (or equivalent) examination in 2022 or 2023.
    • For BSc in Nursing: If you are from the science stream, your combined GPA in SSC and HSC must be at least 7.00, with no less than 3.00 in any of the exams and a minimum of 3.00 GPA in Biology.
    • For Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery / Diploma in Midwifery: Students from all academic streams (Science, Arts, Commerce) can

Remember, meeting these qualifications is only the first step in applying for these important programs. You also need to take the Admission Test.

Marks Distribution for Nursing and Midwifery Admission Test

In the Nursing and Midwifery Admission Test, students can get a total of 150 marks. This includes 100 marks from the test and 50 marks based on their school grades (GPA). The test has multiple-choice questions and lasts for one hour. Here's how the marks are divided:

  • For BSc in Nursing:
    • Bangla: 20 marks
    • English: 20 marks
    • Math: 10 marks
    • Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology): 30 marks
    • General Knowledge: 20 marks
  • For Diploma in Midwifery / Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery:
    • Bangla: 20 marks
    • English: 20 marks
    • Math: 10 marks
    • General Science: 25 marks
    • General Knowledge: 25 marks

To pass, you need at least 40 marks.

Your grade points (GPA) from SSC and HSC are also important. They are used to give you up to 50 extra marks:

  • SSC GPA x 4 gives you up to 20 marks.
  • HSC GPA x 6 gives you up to 30 marks.

So, do well in both your test and school exams to get the best score!

Seat Distribution for Nursing and Midwifery

Great news for students who want to study nursing and midwifery! There are many seats available in different courses. Let's see how many seats there are:

  • BSc in Nursing Course: There are 1,200 seats waiting for you.
  • Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery: A big number! 2,730 seats are available.
  • Diploma in Midwifery: Try for one of the 1,050 seats.

Also, there are special seats for some students:

  • Special Quota: 2% of the seats are kept for children and grandchildren of freedom fighters.
  • The rest of the seats? 60% are for students with the best scores, and 40% are for students from different districts.

Application Process for Nursing and Midwifery Admission

Excited to start your journey in nursing or midwifery? The first step is easy and all online! Here's how you can apply:

  1. Visit the Website: Go to bnmc.teletalk.com.bd to start your application.
  2. Fill in Your Details: You'll need to enter some information about yourself. This includes your personal details, your roll and registration numbers from school, and your choice of exam centers.
  3. Upload Your Photo and Signature: Get a clear scanned photo and signature ready. Make sure they are the right size as asked on the website.
  4. Choose How to Pay: The application fee is paid through a Teletalk Prepaid SIM card.

After you complete the online form, you'll get a User ID and password. Keep these safe - you'll need them for the next part.

  1. Send an SMS for Payment: Using your phone, send an SMS to 16222 with the text “BNMC [space] User ID”. For example, type "BNMC D7ADEX".
  2. Confirm Your Payment: You'll get a reply SMS with a PIN number. Send another SMS to 16222 saying “BNMC [space] Yes [space] PIN number”. For example, "BNMC YES 462364".

When your payment goes through, you'll get a confirmation SMS with your User ID and password again.
